Oasis Singer Liam Gallagher Faces Trial for Child Support

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is facing trial in September for child support after his offer to pay $5000 per month was refused by the child’s mother.

“As of now, we’re going to trial in September,” Gallagher’s lawyer Raoul Felder told the News.

Felder appeared on Gallagher’s behalf in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday where the former Oasis frontman’s child’s mother, journalist Liza Ghorbani, showed up wearing a gold necklace emblazoned with their daughter’s name: Gemma.

Gallagher did not appear in person, instead participating by phone from London.

Ghorbani wants Gallagher, who has four kids by four different women, to pay more child support for their love child.

Ghorbani first sued Gallagher in Family Court, where the rock star volunteered to pay her $5000 a month in child support.

Unhappy with the results there, she took the matter to Supreme Court, where the parties have been in settlement talks for months.

“Any hope of settlement has been dashed,” one party familiar with the talks said Tuesday.

Unless the discussion resumes in the coming weeks, each side will be deposing the other, poking into their finances and spending habits, which could prove more embarrassing for Gallagher than for Ghorbani if the case goes to trial.

Gemma, who is now 18 months old, is the product of a brief affair between Gallagher and Ghorbani. The pair met in 2010, while Ghorbani was writing an article on Gallagher for the New York Times.

Ghorbani’s lawyer, Ira Garr, could not be reached for comment.

Supreme Court Justice Laura Drager told the parties to return to court in late September.
