Singer Keith Urban To Make His Video Game Debut

Acclaimed country singer and American Idol judge Keith Urban is to have one of his songs featured in a popular virtual farming game.

The 46-year-old Australian singer’s new track Good Thing has been integrated into the mobile game FarmVille 2: Country Escape.

And the musician certainly thinks that this new collaboration is a good thing indeed, recently speaking to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about the exciting news.

‘Farmville is such a cool game,’ he told Ellen during a studio interview after he performed his hit on the show’s stage.

This is the first time that gaming company Zynga has ever integrated an artist’s song directly into a mobile game and Keith explained how he was approached to seal the deal.

‘They called me and said ‘you know we have this song that we think would be cool for this. It’s from your new record – would you be cool supporting that?’’ he said.

Keith added that it was the sense of community that the game with over 400 million users initiated that made him agree to the collaboration.

‘Our whole thing is very communal. It’s bringing people together, it’s a whole spirit and that’s what Farmville’s all about.’

‘It seemed like a cool fun thing to be involved in,’ he said about the game that allows users to restore their family farm by growing crops, nurturing animals, collecting rare treasures and trading with friends.

As well as talking about his Farmville appearance, Keith shared some updates about his family.

Keith and his Australian actress wife Nicole Kidman, 46, have two daughters Sunday Rose, five, and Faith Margaret, three.

And it looks like his girls have picked up the musical genes, with Sunday often belting out the high notes to the popular track Let It Go from Disney movie Frozen.

Sunday’s very dramatic,’ Keith revealed as he imitated his elder daughter singing to the Frozen song with eyes closed and fists clenched.

‘She’s five-and-a-half going on 14 you know everyone knows that.’

‘It used to be Call Me Maybe and now it’s Let It Go,’ he added about his daughter’s favourite song choice.

He was also proud to admit that both Sunday and Faith are fans of his own country tunes.

‘I walked into their room and they had Come Back To Me which is a ballad on this record that they were grooving to real slow,’ he said with a big smile on his face.
